I read it, the whole thing, yesterday. My assignment was only to read the first half, but I was unable to stop halfway.

I've had years to get through the various stages of grief and am pretty well beyond anger and feel a lot of compassion/sadness for my husband (soon to be ex) for getting to a point in his life where the choices he made/makes, make sense to him in any way. I was riveted by the writing, and feel a sense of loss that I joined too late to ever know CoachJon. His writing style made not only for a compelling read, but such insight into the way addiction is so insidious and really has nothing to do with the partner at all.

I realize that it may be a very difficult read for some, especially because it is fairly explicit in sections (though IMO not gratuitous for the subject matter or progression of the writing), but it really, really gets to the heart of the issues and I think would be tremendously helpful for any partner to read, to get a glimpse of how things can spiral so out of control.

I guess I just wanted to write a thank you to send out to the ether to Jon, wherever he is, and encourage partners who may have found it difficult on first read to get through it, to give it a little time and try again, and read it through to re end.

Peace and light to alll~~

I know this post is pretty old, but I also wish Coach Jon was still here to help us at present. May he rest in peace.

It was a good read. I had to convert it to mobi so I could read it in my kindle app.
