It has been almost a year since I joined Recovery Nation and I have completed the lessons here. My partner has seen 3 sex addiction therapists. as it is a condition of my staying in the relationship. He has not admitted to anything I have seen but his behaviour has changed dramatically. Two months ago I told him that I needed disclosure followed by a polygraph(lie detector test). He agreed if his therapist agreed, which she did, so it is supposed to occur in about a month. I am very scared of how painful this disclosure could be or of him failing the polygraph. I also think it's very likely he won't actually do it. I am preparing questions with a partner therapist, and hopefully myself as much as possible. Does anyone have any similar experiences they could share? What physically did you do after the disclosure and/test? Was it more or less painful than original discovery? Did it end or help your relationship with the SA? Was it helpful to your recovery? Any advice or suggestions on this I would really appreciate!
