I'm so nervous, she specializes in family/marital counseling, and I'm not sure she has experience in SA, but we're limited to therapists that take our insurance, we can't afford out of network therapists. H found one that does have experience in SA though she isn't a CSAT. The one I'm going to see is just a therapist. I hope it goes ok.

I'm proud of you for taking that step for yourself. It took me almost nine months before I sought a therapist for myself. It wasn't until our marriage counselor said to me, once again, that she thought I should consider seeing someone on my own, and here's someone I recommend for you, that I finally reached out. My therapist specializes in trauma, and I found out in our second session, she's a partner of a recovered SA! I think any therapist can be helpful, but not all of them are. Our marriage counselor does not have experience in SA , but we've been seeing her since March and she is just amazing....so insightful. My husband is about to embark on his third IC (the second one had experience with SA) because he doesn't feel he's gotten as much value out of them as he does Recovery Nation or our MC. I guess it's more or less a crap shoot, so don't be hesitant about trying different counselors if you don't like the vibes this ones giving off.

Thanks. She was actually pretty nice and comfortable to talk to.

Forgot to mention, she said I have PTSD.

I haven't even looked up what that means (I mean I know what the letters stand for, but I dont know the symptoms) It just sucks that I have to do all of this at all.
