Just 4 days into my recovery. Urges are very strong. I've been able to resist urges during my waking hours. At night though when I'm asleep the thoughts mostly BDSM / Fetish related invade my dreams. I wake up now several times during the night to shake off the thoughts and am getting up and out of bed just so the thoughts stop. Is this normal?

we are all different and we react differently but yes this kind of reaction is normal
a better more positive question would be
acting out compulsively , is this normal?
you faced that question and that is a major step forwards
one suggestion
stop counting the days
live every day afresh , live each as if it were your first day on this journey, bearing in mind that you know and understand more
with each lesson

I did read your feedback and apologize for not replying. I'm going to attend an SLAA group meeting this Saturday. I like Recovery Nation but the technology of the posts and so forth are a lot to deal with after I've been on an electronic leash all day. I will continue with this site as I believe I'm gaining good insight about myself and my goals but also need a bit of human interaction as well. My first meeting is Saturday and hope its not too religion based and I can meet some good people.

dont worry about the technology
but please be advised that posting on the threads of others is prohibited unless you are a mentor or a coach
