Hello fellow journeymen and women,

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

As part of the first exercise I have written some words

I want to shape my life different. I want the future to be great. My emotional wellbeing can never be achieved going down the same path I have been going down.
I want to be free, to live life, to manage my emotions, to accomplish things, to mature, to become open. To stand for something. To become a man. To live my life in the open. To not be ashamed of anything.
I want to find fulfilment in my sex life without needing images for my brain to be aroused. To have a healthy sex life. For my brain to return to a more natural state.

2) not allowing guilt/shame to sabotage your commitment to change
I have been in the recovery/relapse thing for a couple of times over the years. Especially after I have failed I would fall into the trap of thinking its no use I have messed up already.
This is something I am aware of now.

3) allowing yourself time to change.
I once read yourbrainonporn, and listened to a doctor give a lecture on sex addiction, he mentioned the recovery period could be months to years. Which I found to be insanely long and discouraging. I thought to myself, there must be a faster way. A shortcut, I can just will myself through it. Now years later still dealing with the same addiction, I know and accept whatever time it will take me.

or accepting it and all of its consequences
believe me you can deal with it but you must really want to
if so then welcome to RN
you are at a good place to make that wish reality
Commit , fully and completely
work through the lessons and understand them , if you miss something ask on the help forum , assistance is always on hand
coaches and mentors are likely to drop by occasionally but if not, don't worry as this is generally a good indicator that you are on the right path

the path is long and difficult but it is well proven and you are not alone
we usually suggest completing about 3 lessons a week but spending time every day posting and reading
get to know your addiction and see yourself with honesty and openness

remember to work at your own pace and its not a race indeed some consider recovery to be a journey rather than a destination

remember the only person that can make these changes is you, so the hard work needs to come from you
looking forwards to reading your posts and wishing you all the best

if you choose not to be here, then that is also your choice

please choose wisely

Remember recovery is more than abstinence
Every transition begins with an ending
Do not confuse happiness with seeking pleasure
stay healthy keep safe
