Ending workshop and starting Recovery

I'm at the end of the lessons, though with a little revision to do, and wanted to pop by to say a big thank you for all the help over the past couple of years. The help from the workshop and particularly from the mentors here who certainly helped me along the (right) path. Plus the help from seeing a little of the struggles of others and how they have coped.

Partially from recently reading Lesson 71 the word that comes most to mind right now is awareness. Awareness of what I did, awareness of the effect on others, of the need to have values and action plans. Awareness of how addiction and compulsion work. Most importantly awareness of how the path to Recovery works, the importance of sticking to it and being aware of how events may try to deviate from it. Being aware when those events happen, and now having the tools to deal with them.

As I've said before I see Recovery as a journey, as a path to be taken, one that's become easier to see, and to follow, with these lessons, but that will still require effort and attention. I'll keep an eye on these posts and whilst I hope I won't have the need to use the backup hereabouts too often, its good to know its there.

May I wish everyone else the best for their journeys. It's tough, though as I've seen so far, very much worth the effort.

J
