My wife and I are at the beginning of (Christian) marriage counseling for which I am very thankful for her support and willingness. I have been offered “ your recovery is yours” (fit to suit you) in which I can be appointed an accountability partner and also see social worker who specializes in pornography addictions. I am agreeable to everything that could help me/our marriage, but what I don’t want is confusion or something to work against or be counterproductive to RN. Just want to do recovery correctly and successfully. Any advice is welcome.

Hi C
recovery is a personal journey
relationship re building is also a journey

sometimes they co exist but not always but certainly they should not conflict

so what do you have to lose vs the potential gains (for both of you)
My advice
use every useful tool in the box
so try, only then you will determine which tools are useful

you owe your recovery to yourself but do consider what you owe to your wife, prove that you deserve her

one further (my personal opinion / comment)
Quote:
I can be appointed an accountability partner

Accountability for what?
for recovery if you are not or cannot be accountable to yourself then you are missing a large part of the essence of the RN recovery path

Relationship accountability judge for yourself :pe:

good luck hope this helps
