First time doing the 'partner' of one who has a porn addiction...not even sure what to say or not to say....i am an older gal who, after staying single for 20 years after my first divorce, decided to marry again....everything i believed in this guy that i had, was turned upside down and inside out when i discovered his 'habit'....very very devastating...strongly considered divorce...i'm too old for this crap, sort of thing...i am a christian and have thus far hung in there, but i make no promises as to where our marriage will end up...i don't have the confidence to make that decision right now, nor do i want to put myself through any more than i already have....a lot of things i've read thus far, i'm already on that page so to speak....probably due to my age and the load of life experiences i have already gone through...many of them should have been enough to put me in a white jacket by would seem the good Lord has other plans for me i guess....but this is a totally new one folks and it's a tough one to be sure....hit me pretty hard....and i've faced a lot of hardships in my i was reminded just today: i need to keep my focus on Him (Jesus) and lean on Him the whole way which I haven't been doing cuz this threw me for such a loop....guess we will see where we end up....eventually....OA

orphanannie - Welcome to Recovery Nation. I am sorry you need to be here, but this is a healing place to be. You are not alone. The partners here understand how traumatic the discovery of your husband's addiction has been.

I encourage you to continue the lessons. They were immensely helpful to me. I also encourage you to read and post to the partners community support forum. In my personal situation, I also began counseling with a therapist who specialized in treating trauma. That has been very helpful to me as well.

You will feel better. It takes time and it is hard. But, you deserve peace and joy in your life.

With compassion,
