We are going to work on the couple's workshop and wondered if we should have one set of usernames for the Couple's Workshop and a different set for the Individual Workshops. It appears that we have access to both the Couple's forums and the Individual (recovery and partner) forums. I'm asking as I'm not sure if we should be able to read what is on each other's individual healing threads; thinking that it might make it more difficult to be completely open about things--particularly in the beginning stages of healing. I am just wanting to get a feel for what other people are doing/have done as well as the pros and cons for each option. :w:
Thank you!

Most ppl use their respective/original usernames. If you want different usernames you will have to create a different account, which requires a different email address, I think (but check with Coach Cheryl on that). Your concern is valid and is often a concern at the beginning of recovery and healing. It depends on where you are at. One pov is that since you are approaching this as partners, transparency and honesty are foundational for a healthy partnership and why keep your individual work secret. Another perspective is that you may not be ready to be completely open with each other and in this early phase of the process, having the ability to see each others work may have you hold back, which is not optimal either. I think it is best if you come to an agreement on this between the two of you. Your needs might not match and so you might have to also consider if the couple's path is the right one for you right now. I know, I talked circles but it really is dependent on your vision, your values, your goals, your desired outcomes, and where you both are at. Read some of the couple's lessons to determine if they are for you and then make a choice regarding your thread from there.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. (Viktor E. Frankl)
