Just a reminder regarding the procedure for posting in the forums.
of late quite a few members on the recovery side have been hitting the "new topic" key when posting thus creating multiple threads rather than one continuous one

the benefit of a continuous thread is that all of your posts are in one place, being together it is easy for members to look back and reflect , contemplate where they came from and asses progress made, it also is easy to remind oneself of our reasons for change , our vision which should always be a work in progress our values , absolute boundaries etc etc
it also helps coaches and mentors who might notice things that the member is missing (positive as well as negative) and then can step in with advice / prompt etc

so quoting from previous instructions
Adding New Lesson Responses to your Thread:

1. From the Self-Help Lesson Response Forum Index, find your Personal Healing/Recovery thread and click it to open.

2. Choose the Post Reply button located next to the "New Topic" button underneath the title (which should be the name of your thread, if it isn't, you are in the wrong thread so go back to the index and try again!)

3. Input your work in the "Message body" text box

4. Click the "Submit" button.

Note: If it has been a while since you visited RN and you cannot easily find your thread, you can use the "Search" function which is found below the Recovery Nation title at the top of the page, next to the "FAQ" link. When you click on "Search", enter your username in the the "search for author" box, and use the "Search in forums" drop down menu to select the forum in which you posted your work (e.g. Self-Help Recovery). Then, click the "Search" button. All of the posts you have made in this forum will appear in the results.

Creating a New Topic of Conversation in the Community Support Forums:

1. From the Recovery Nation Forum Index, select the Self-Help Partners'/Recovery/Couple's Support Forum

2. Select the New Topic button

3. Input a title into the "Subject" text box

4. Input your comments/conversation into the "Message body" text box.

5. Click the "Submit" button.

Responding to a Topic of Conversation in the Community Support Forums:

1. From the Self-Help Partner's/Recovery/Couple's Support Forum select the topic title of the conversation you wish to post a reply to (ie. your thoughts, comments and contributions)

2. Select the Post Reply button.

3. Input your contribution into the "Message body" text box.

4. Click the "Submit" button.

Note: You may preview and edit your work as necessary prior to submitting (from the "Message body" text box and you can also edit after submitting your response as well (by using the edit function button located in the top right hand corner of all posts).

**Some people find it beneficial, and we highly recommend, to complete the work on a separate document first and then copy and paste it into their thread. This prevents you from loosing your work should there be a glitch in the system (as can sometimes happen!).

To delete your post:

1. Click on the little “x” in the bottom right hand corner of your post.
2. You will be asked if you are sure if you wish to delete your post: If you are sure, click “yes”; if you are unsure, click “no”.

To edit your post:

1. Click the “edit” button at the bottom right hand corner of your post (it is below, and slightly left of, the “x”).
2. The text box will appear and you can edit away!
3. Click "sumbit" when you are ready to submit your edited post.

When editing, the system will not allow you to submit an empty post, so you will have to type in something.
You can only edit or delete your own posts.
Deleting is a permanent action, so be certain before doing so. You may even wish to make a personal copy of it first, by copying and pasting it into a separate word document before you delete it.

Just a reminder:

Know that while you are welcome to review other people's Personal Healing/Recovery Threads for possible insights and experiences to apply to your own healing, you are asked not to post directly into another person's healing/recovery lesson response thread.

Remember recovery is more than abstinence
Every transition begins with an ending
Do not confuse happiness with seeking pleasure
stay healthy keep safe

TOP TIP: Always always always when writing a post, before you submit it, select all the text and copy it (Windows CTRL + C, MacOS CMD + C). Just In Case.

There is NOTHING more heartbreaking than losing a post due to some technical error. If the submit fails, paste your text into MSWord or an email or something so it remains safe.
