What are some things you guys do to avoid compulsive behavior while completing this workshop? I am 25 lessons in and it has been difficult for me to work with this. I am currently 24 hours off of porn as of writing this but I keep relapsing. Does anyone else have this issue? What are some tips to break this cycle and at least stay off porn while I complete the workshop?

Hi Beautyseeker,

First of all your Values that you wrote at the beginning of the workshop should be strong enough to remind you of why you are trying to kick your compulsive behaviour.
Secondly a major part of becoming healthy is filling your life with things that keep you away from your habit.
It may be tough, but it has to be done or you will not get past first base!

Is a worrying comment, do you only wish to stay sober while doing the workshop?

hi there!

apps like 'focusme' are website blockers that i currently use. though take it with a grain of salt...the addict will always find a way around a blocker. it's mainly just a way to not be triggered like if you want to have 'safe search' on google. at the end of the day...these are just band aids...it always come from within you.

if you have access to a printer, i'd suggest just printing the lessons and to separate yourself from the situation. the trigger, your computer, seems to be causing you stress. if you can isolate the trigger, then this may help you gain traction. but again...take it with a grain of salt...it's not the computer that is the issue...and triggers are everywhere. it's the emotional management skills that need to be learned.

good luck.

Hey Theseus1112,

Yeah, I just re-did my vision over again. Kenzo told me to include "how's," "why's," and "when's" so I'm doing that and going back to redo the values as well.

Sorry, I should have given more detail with that. I'm just saying that continuing to use it during the workshop has been causing me a lot of stress. Of course, I am doing this to transition to a healthy life but I feel like the stress from the continued porn use limits the efficiency with which I can complete the workshop.

Hey foundman!

Thanks for your advice man! I'll look into some blockers. I have been involved with the Porn Addicts anonymous groups for now. I just surrendered to sharing an urge with someone. It helped me to at least get through it although You are right. It comes from within me so I never want to solely rely on that. So I think these methods are good while developing my skills in this workshop.
